One in four women can’t open car bonnet

BRUSSELS — One out of every four women don’t know how to open the bonnet of their car, the Flemish motorists association VAB said.

The VAB survey also revealed that 4 percent of men don’t know how to open the bonnet either, newspaper ‘Het Nieuwsblad’ reported.

The association also said a large number of motorists don’t know how to perform simple tasks.

Some 31 percent are unable to inspect the car’s oil level and a noteworthy 72 percent of motorists don’t know where the brake fluid reservoir is.

The VAB survey also revealed that some 67 percent of motorists find it difficult to inspect tyres for wear and tear.

In general, women scored worse then men when tested by the VAB on the above tasks.
