No Marktrock this year?

5 February 2007

BRUSSELS – The directors of the annual three-day music festival in Leuven are considering shutting down the event because of the rising costs.

Although the organisation probably has an adequate budget to organise a new edition of the music festival, there is a good chance it could end up in debt if the turnout at the event is disappointing.

Organiser Guido Hoeven said that there would be a more definite report on the situation by the end of the week.

He admitted that the organisation has had to dig deep into its reserves in order to break even over the past few years.
