New speed traps for Wallonia accident blackspots

13 January 2005

BRUSSELS – Drivers will be forced to slow down in Wallonia or face more fines as the region prepares to install more speed traps on its roads.

The nine new radars will be put in place as soon as the necessary paperwork is signed off by the police and the public prosecutors.

The devices are to be installed after the Beez viaduct and the Cointe tunnel, and will be located in accident blackspots.

Flanders already benefits from more speed cameras on regional roads and at crossroads.
