New low cost carrier for Charleroi

BRUSSELS – Low cost Hungarian airline Wizz Air has made its first flight out of Belgium’s Charleroi airport.

The Wizz flight left Charleroi airport for the nHungarian capital Budapest on Friday.

Until mid September Wizz plans to fly between the two cities four times a week for a one way cost of around  EUR 19.90.

After that it intends to offer daily flights to and from both the Hungarian capital and the Polish capital Warsaw.

Apart from routes in and out of Charleroi, Wizz also flies to many other European destinations.

Wizz is the third low cost airline to begin operating in and out of Charleroi this year.

Italian operator Air Service Plus and Poland’s Air Polonia also offer services from the south Belgian airport.

Charleroi’s biggest customer by far remains Irish low cost carrier Ryanair.
