Mother transferred to prison

6 March 2007

BRUSSELS – Geneviève Lhermitte, the Nijvel woman who killed her five children by cutting their throats last Wednesday, has been transferred from the Jolimont hospital in La Louvière to the Berkendael prison in Brussels. Radio station Bel RTL reported this today.

The woman was released from the intensive care unit of the hospital and has now been transferred to the psychiatric wing of the prison. Geneviève Lhermitte is still suffering from fatigue and repeating that she felt suffocated by the children’s godfather, a doctor who lived in the family’s home in Nijvel.
