Mother kills her five children

BRUSSELS – The bodies of five children were found this afternoon in Nijvel. Their mother is suspected of having killed them before trying to commit suicide herself. She even called the emergency services. The authorities in Nijvel presume this was an act of desperation. The woman was admitted to a hospital in La Louvière.

The four girls and a boy were between the ages of four and fourteen. They attended school as usual this morning and were killed at their home on the Avenue Général Jacques in Nijvel between 2.00 and 3.00 p.m. this afternoon.

The woman’s husband was not home at the time of the incident.
