BRUSSELS – Sales of mobile phones are booming in Belgium, at the cost of home phones, it was reported on Tuesday.
There are now 8,712,269 mobiles in Belgium – a country with around 10 million inhabitants.
Back in 1996 only 4.7 percent of Belgians owned one.
In contrast, fewer and fewer consumers are opting for a land line.
There are only 5,073,760 left in the country.
