Large turnout at memorial service

6 March 2007

BRUSSELS – The memorial service for the Mogadem children at the Recollet Church in Nijvel on Monday was attended by 800 people. The children’s father was present for part of the ceremony.

The bodies of the five children killed by their mother last week were brought to Zaventem airport at about 6.30 p.m. last night. They were flown to Agadir, Morocco this morning for burial.

An Islamic ceremony was also held at the Great Mosque in Brussels to honour the children. The bodies were then moved to the funeral home in Nijvel, where family members, neighbours, friends and classmates were able to pay their last respects to the children.
