Large drug shipments intercepted

BRUSSELS – The federal aviation police intercepted 7.5 kg of cocaine and 15.5 kg of ecstasy pills at Brussels Airport in the past week.

One Belgian, two Dutchmen, two Jamaicans and an Israeli woman were arrested.

In three of the four cases the drug smugglers were using hand baggage with hidden compartments. Five people were handed over to the public prosecution department in Brussels, the federal police announced.
