Lambs born at Leuven Nativity scene

The sheep belong to the KU Lovenaar breed developed by the University of Leuven forty years ago.

The nativity’s shepherd says the breed are great mothers because they give a lot of milk: “It certainly won’t be a problem that there are twins.”

The shepherd plans to remove the lambs from the Nativity on New Year’s Eve as they might get frightened by all the noise from revellers and drunken Leuvenaars.
