BRUSSELS – The ex-husband of the woman does not want his three children to move out of the country. They must await the decision of the Juvenile Court Magistrate in October.
Monica Van den Broek and Patrick Lenaerts from Kapellen were planning to leave Belgium this summer and take up permanent residence in Curaçao. The children from her ex-husband – 12, 14 and 16 years old – would also emigrate with them. The newly-formed family now have to put their plans on hold. The natural father of the three teenagers took the case to court.
The judge in interlocutory proceedings laid down conditions awaiting the decision of the Juvenile Court Magistrate in October. The three children are not allowed to go abroad under penalty of police and judicial international tracing.
The Kapellen couple must also pay EUR 250 per day for each day that they limit the visiting rights of the father. He is allowed to see his children every fourteen days, from 10 a.m. on Saturdays till 5 p.m. on Sundays.
