The man famous from numerous television series, including ‘The Naked Chef’, ‘Jamie’s Kitchen’ and ‘Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals’ says that he intends to open his first restaurant here within the next few years.
He intends to open restaurants in Germany and the Netherlands before embarking on his first Belgian venture.
Jamie Oliver is well-known in Flanders. A number of the British chef’s books have been translated into Dutch and some of his television series have also been broadcast on Flemish television channels.
He already owns restaurants in the UK, Australia, Russia and Sweden. In the autumn of this year he plans to open a restaurant in the Markthal in Rotterdam (The Netherlands).
His restaurants are a joint venture with the Italian company Food Concepts.
Writing on his website, Jamie Oliver says that “I am happy to be cooperating with these brilliant guys to open restaurants in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. “It is a creative team with a lot of talent. I can’t wait to get started.”
The exact location of his planned Belgian venture has still to be announced.
