It’s all about sex, say Belgium’s lovers

14 February 2005

BRUSSELS – Sex is the most important element of a relationship say 52 percent of couples questionned in a recent love survey.

According to the Valentine’s day poll carried out by the Sud-Presse group, only one percent of couples find this a neglible part of their relationship.

Pleasantness, humour and physical attraction are the next most important things in relationships, says the survey.

Both men and women agree that all three elements are important for a couple to flourish.

Communication, common interests and attention also form part of the miracle formula to make a relationship work.

This Valentines day, 32 percent of couples will have a special meal together and a third of all women will receive flowers.

But despite Cupid’s intense marketing strategy, 18 percent of couples have decided not to celebrate St Valentines at all.
