Investigators seek German in Annick case

7 May 2007

BRUSSELS – Detectives investigating the murder of Annick Van Uytsel are reportedly looking into the possible involvement of a German man.

The employee, who worked at the industrial area in Halen where Annick disappeared, has not shown up for work since last Monday, Het Belang van Limburg reports today.

It seems as if the man is missing. The authorities in Louvain could not confirm this part of the investigation as the spokesperson for the public prosecution department could not be reached this weekend.

The disappearance of the German may be a coincidence and unconnected with the disappearance and murder of Annick Van Uytsel from Kaggevinne. Still it is odd that the man has not shown up for work since the girl’s disappearance.
