ING Sent Account Info to Wrong Addresses

9 February 2007

BRUSSELS — ING bank has sent wrong account overviews to 1,000 clients, De Standard writes.

Information on other people’s savings and costs were sent to complete strangers, as a result.

According to the ING, the confusion occurred at the sending stage. The mistake was detected immediately but it was already too late to correct it, the bank commented.

The clients involved will receive letters of apology today.
