Health workers on the march

Health workers on the march

10 December 2004

BRUSSELS – Health workers took to the streets of Brussels on Friday morning, calling for discussions on grievances they expressed a year ago.

The workers marched through Rue de la Loi, disrupting the traffic, and headed to the offices of Belgium’s federal health minister Rudy Demotte and the Flanders minister for health and well-being Inge Vervotte.

They want the two ministers to meet them to discuss a report they gave them a year ago, which contained a number of demands about their working conditions.

Above all, they want 13,700 extra staff to be recruited in the health sector.
