Galileo is here!

The global navigation system Galileo has taken ten years to build and has cost EUR six billion. The completion of the project means that Europe is no longer dependent on the current US-built GPS system which is run by the military and may be shut down to the public in time of conflict.

Civilian system

Galileo is not a military, but a civilian system, intended for everybody all over the world. It offers many applications, including navigation, rescue and even farming.
