Fresh therapy offered to Dutroux jury

27 July 2004

BRUSSELS – A second round of therapy has been offered to the members of the jury that tried Belgian child-killer Marc Dutroux, it was reported on Tuesday.

The jurors, who had to analyse evidence of the horrific crimes Dutroux inflicted on his victims, were initially offered therapy during the two weeks after the trial ended, reported “La Derniere Heure” on Tuesday.

But since the details of another child-killer, Michel Fourniret, have come to light, the jurors have asked for a second bout of therapy at short notice.

The new session will take place in September.

Sources within the judiciary say that this date appears to be too far off for members of the jury who have been traumatised by the new murder revelations.
