Flights at Brussels airport disrupted by snowstorm

Some 40 flights were cancelled at Brussels airport Friday due to snow-storms and strong winds that disrupted traffic particularly on European routes, airport officials said.

Cancellations mainly targeted short-haul flights to European cities such as Madrid and Lyon, officials at Zaventem airport said.

Overnight snowstorms that blanketed the city were expected to end in the afternoon, the weather bureau said.
