No long weekend for everybody!
Unfortunately, the measure does not include us all and employees at businesses like the post office "Bpost" and high street banks are working as per usual.
Bpost post offices are open today. Letters and parcels will be delivered. Post points are open during the hours of business of the store where they are located.
For workers in the banking sector this last day of October is no bank holiday. Industry federation Febelfin notes that branches should be open unless they have taken an individual decision to close.
The picture across municipal services in Flanders is more mixed. The Towns and Cities Association notes that it’s up to each and every municipality to decide for themselves what they do. In Ghent and Antwerp municipal services may have different opening hours today. In some municipalities opening hours and services may be affected by the All Souls holiday on 2 November.
Tomorrow, 1 November is a public holiday: all post offices will be closed. There will be no deliveries either. Municipal services will not be open either.
