Plan to rob the National Bank

The man was detained as part of a separate investigation into a home robbery. Jennifer Vanderputten of the Brussels Judicial Authorities told journalists that during a search of the man’s home, detectives found evidence of a plan to rob the National Bank.

“On 4 February, three young men were detained during an attempted home jacking in Laken (Brussels). During a search of one of their homes, a handwritten 5-page document was discovered, containing a plan for a robbery at the National Bank”.

Ms Vanderputten “The plan wasn’t very concrete and the suspect dismissed it as a bluff. The plan would have had little chance of success. No copies of a staff roster were found nor were any explosives.”
