Firefighters smoke out dope plantation

BRUSSELS – A team of firefighters stumbled upon a cannabis plantation in a home in Limburg province, it was reported on Thursday.

The Saint-Trond fire service was called to the house in Buvingen to tackle flames in the loft.

They found dope plants at the home, which was being renovated, and then further plants in an annexe.

The owner, who comes from Limburg, was away.

The cause of the fire, which is believed to be linked to the heating system, is still under investigation.
