BRUSSELS – The federal police will be conducting extra drink-driving checks all this week. The action is part of a European campaign against driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

“We want to show that this is unacceptable even in the summer months, when people spend a lot of time at terrace cafes and barbecues,” says police superintendent Eddy Greif. “We may conduct checks all year, not only during the Christmas and New Year’s period.”
