BRUSSELS – Eurostar transported almost 5 percent more travellers in the first half of this year. That is 4.8 percent more than in the first six months of 2006, Eurostar reported on Wednesday.
Ticket sales rose as well, by 13.6 percent to GBP 295.7 million (almost EUR 440 million).
The business travellers’ segment in particular performed well, experiencing a 13 percent increase in the number of passengers. Eurostar says it achieved 92 percent punctuality in the first half of the year.
