Dutch suspects in child porn case

8 August 2007

WAALRE – Belgian police have arrested a 43-year-old man from Waalre and a 30-year-old woman from Waalwijk on suspicion of possession and production of child pornography. They were tracked down after an investigation in Belgium.

Police of the Brabant Zuid-Oost district announced this on Wednesday.

A man was arrested in Belgium in 2005 for offering his two underage daughters for sex in exchange for money. The man from Waalre and the woman from Waalwijk reportedly made pornographic films of one of the Belgian man’s daughters.

Memory devices and computers containing pornographic pictures of children were confiscated from the Waalre resident’s home. The court in Den Bosch ordered last Friday that he be held for two weeks in connection with the case.

The woman was arrested on Monday and is being held. Suspicious material found at her home still has to be examined.
