BRUSSELS – A Belgian drug smuggler died on Monday during a flight from the Dominican Republic to the Spanish capital of Madrid, Spanish police have reported.
The man had swallowed a number of wrapped capsules containing drugs in an attempt to smuggle them past drug checks.
The 32-year-old Bram G. died two hours before landing. The initial results from the autopsy indicate that the man died after one of the cocaine packages he had swallowed burst in his stomach.
