Chechen dead after stabbing

BRUSSELS – A 19-year-old Chechen boy has died after being stabbed in Sint-Gillis on Sunday afternoon. Another person, also a Chechen and reportedly the boy’s brother, was wounded in the stabbing and brought to hospital as well, police report.

The 19-year-old was brought to the Sint-Pieters hospital in Brussels where he later died of his injuries.

The fight took place on Sunday at about 1.30 p.m. on the corner of the Fonsnylaan and the Hollandstraat near the Zuid station in Sint-Gillis. The other people involved fled before police arrived on the scene.
