C&A to launch shoe chain

BRUSSELS –  The Dutch clothing store has chosen Belgium as the site for its first ever chain of shoe shops. The first shop is expected to open its doors next spring.

C&A says it is aiming for relatively small shops, of 200 to 250 square metres in size. The shoe market in Belgium has a value of EUR 1.3 billion.

Belgian chain Brantano is the largest player on the market, followed by Euro Shoe (the group behind Shoes In The Box, Shoe Discount and Avance) and Torfs.
