Bush to visit Brussels

BRUSSELS – US President George W. Bush will visit Brussels early next year to meet EU and NATO leaders, it was confirmed on Thursday.

NATO officials said that Bush will come to the Belgian capital in February 2005.

In Washington, Whitehouse spokesman Scott McClellan added that the US President also planned to visit other European countries during the trip, but gave no more details.

“The president will travel to Europe in February 2005 for meetings with European leaders,” McClellan said.

“He will begin his consultations in Brussels, Belgium on February 22, meeting with allied heads of state and government and NATO, and the president with also meet with the EU presidency, the European Council and the European Commission president at EU’s Brussels office,” the spokesman added.
