13 July 2004

BRUSSELS – Close to a quarter of a million Belgians have more than one job, a new survey revealed on Tuesday.

According to research carried out by the University of Louvain (KUL), around 250,000 Belgians combine salaried staff jobs with freelance work.

In Flanders, 160,000 workers have double employment status, which is around seven percent of the workforce aged between 18 and 65.

This compares to 74,757 of French-speaking Belgians and 19,589 workers in Brussels, according to information in De Standaard.
