Belgium unveils world’s deepest swimming pool

BRUSSELS – The deepest swimming pool in the world has opened in Belgium, it was reported on Wednesday.

The pool, which has been baptised Nemo 33, is 33 metres deep and is in Uccle.

It will be used for scientific research and by people who want to learn to dive.

The pool will be heated by solar energy to a temperature of around 30 degrees.

Nemo 33 cost EUR 3.2 million to build and contains 2.5 million litres of water.
