Belgium rockfest top of the pops

BRUSSELS – Belgium’s famous Werchter rock festival has been awarded a top international prize.

On Monday the prestigious International Live Music Conference (ILMC) in London crowned the event ‘Best Music Festival of 2003’.

Werchter is held in the Flemish town that bears its name and is the high point of the Belgian rock calendar.

This year’s festival takes place on June 26 and is set to feature among other artists The Pixies, Moloko and David Bowie.
