BRUSSELS – The number one resolution made by holidaying Belgians is to worry less, it has emerged.
Le Soir reported on Friday that 15,615 people were interviewed by the websites references.be and its Flemish counterpart vacature.com about their holiday behaviour.
French-speaking Belgians it appears prefer to take several shorter holidays while Flemings prefer a single long break.
The study also found that 36.3 percent of Walloons think they should have more holidays compared with 23 percent of Flemings like.
The top resolution made by holidaying Belgians is to reduce stress.
This is closely followed by pledges to balance work and private life better.
The vast majority of those interviewed – 80 percent – don’t spend any holidays with their colleagues.
However, most Belgians seem to be contactable while on vacation – 86.2 percent take their mobile with them.
