Belgian waistlines expanding

BRUSSELS – Belgian clothes sizes are on the rise, it emerged on Thursday.
 
Ulla Popken, the biggest chain store stocking ‘larger’ garments, opened its first shop seven years ago.

This coming September, the company will open its ninth store, which will be located in Liege, the Belga news agency reported on Thursday.

“In the last two years, sales figures in Belgian branches have risen from 10 to 15 percent,” said the company’s sales director.
