THE HAGUE – Belgian Serge Brammertz will take over from Carla del Ponte as the chief prosecutor at the Yugoslavia Tribunal in The Hague, according to sources at the UN.
Brammertz is a familiar face at the UN. One of his tasks has been to lead the investigation into the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Hariri.
A great many suspects have been prosecuted under De Ponte, including former Yugoslav president Milosevic. But she never managed to get her hands on the two architects of the war in Bosnia, Karadzic and Mladic,
