26 April 2007

BRUSSELS – Industry publication Restaurant Magazine has chosen El Bulli in the Spanish town of Rosas as the best restaurant in the world for the second consecutive year.

651 restaurant critics and chefs cast their vote this year for the “50 best restaurants in the world.”

The Hof Van Cleve in Kruishoutem, Oost-Vlanderen, came in 14th place, moving chef Peter Goossens up nine places from last year.

Restaurants De Karmeliet (Bruges) and Comme chez Soi (Brussels) disappeared from the list. There were no changes in the top five: The Fat Duck (2) in the UK, Pierre Gagnaire (3) in Paris, The French Laundry (4) in California, and Tetsuya (5) in Sydney.
