BRUSSELS – Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt will visit the Afghan capital Kabul this week, it was announced on Wednesday.
Verhofstadt will fly to Kabul on Thursday and will be accompanied by Belgian Defence Minister Andre Flahaut.
The two men will meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and they will also visit the 300 or so Belgian troops currently serving as part of the international stabilisation force in the country.
Verhofstatdt and Flahaut are expected to spend around ten hours in the Afghan capital.
