Belgian murders in broad daylight
3 August 2004
BRUSSELS – Two men were shot dead in front of a hotel in the Belgian town of Bouillon at 4.20 in the afternoon, it was reported on Tuesday.
The news agency Belga said it had learnt from a reliable source that the men were shot by several bullets to the head as they stood by a car outside the Panorama hotel and restaurant, opposite the château.
Several people were sitting on a terrace nearby when the gunmen struck.
The attackers fled before police from Bertrix arrived.
Forensic police from Neufchâteau and police from Semois and Lesse and magistrate Jean-Marc Connerotte all headed to Bouillon to help in the murder investigation.
The area was immediately cordoned off.
Early inquiries suggest the two victims were not from Bouillon.
