BRUSSELS – Belgian mobile phone users are being overcharged to the tune of EUR 910 million every year.
The figures have been compiled by consumer rights group, Tests-Achats, who made a study of phones, operators and tariffs.
The group said it had uncovered EUR 910 million of unjustified charges lining the pockets of the operators.
It also said that mobile phone users are often guilty of not optimising the service to their advantage or finding a better deal.
Too often customers remain too faithful to their operator and do not try to change tariffs or conditions to fit better with their use of the phone.
