BRUSSELS – The price of a glass of beer in Belgium is set to rise by up to 7.5 cents, Flemish newspaper Het Laatste Niews reported on Wednesday.
The paper said Belgian beer giant Interbrew is planning to increase its prices and predicted the country’s smaller brewers would soon follow suit.
Interbrew blamed rising personnel and material costs for the hike.
Interbrew’s decision would not only affect the price of beer sold in bars but also carry-out sales of bottles and cans, the newspaper added.
