The woman was taken to a special unit at the Sint-Pieters Hospital in Brussels where she underwent tests carried out by experts from the Institute of Tropical Medicine.
In a press statement released on Monday evening the Federal Health Ministry said that the test had shown no evidence that the woman is infected with the Ebola virus.
The woman was a passenger on a Brussels Airlines flight from Freetown in Sierra Leone.
She had become unwell on board the plane and had vomited.
She was isolated from the other passengers and on her arrival at Zaventem Airport was taken to an isolation unit at the Sint-Pieters Hospital for tests.
