85 Belgians still missing after tsunamis strikes

BRUSSELS – There are still 85 Belgian citizens unaccounted for in countries hit by the post Christmas tsunamis, the Foreign Ministry has confirmed.

On Monday the Foreign Ministry said 12 of the missing people were known to have been in areas hit by the tsunamis.

The other 73 were in Asia but it was not known where, the ministry added.

By the end of Friday last week, the ministry was still trying to track down 214 people.

More than 150,000 people died in the tsunami disasters.
