BRUSSELS – Some 25,000 shoplifters steal EUR 600 million from Belgian stores each year, it was reported on Thursday.
The figure was given by the Belgian Federation of Distribution Companies to Flemish newspaper Het Laatse Nieuws.
Interior Minister Patrick Dewael has been asked to set up a database to store the details of the thieves in one place.
