AMSTERDAM — A 61-year-old woman lay dead for two and a half months in her home in The Hague before police discovered her body this week.
Staff members of a special civil order maintenance team akin to the stadswacht (city watch) alerted police because they had not seen the woman for some time.
They were also concerned by the number of flies seen on the window of the woman’s house, on the Hoge Zand, newspaper De Telegraaf reported on Thursday.
The woman’s body was discovered on Wednesday and examinations indicated she died two and a half months ago. A police spokesman said the woman died of natural causes.
