Four die in fire in Boxtel

AMSTERDAM — Police ruled out arson and a gas explosion as the investigation into the fatal fire at a family home in Boxtel continued on Monday.

The parents and two of their children died in the blaze at the weekend. A third child survived the tragedy.

Forensic experts began an investigation on Sunday to try and establish the cause of the blaze in the apartment above the couple’s café. It could take several days before the cause is known, a police spokesperson said.

The local council in Boxtel organised a meeting on Monday for the café’s regular patrons to refute rumours about arson.
