AMSTERDAM — Police in Amsterdam have arrested a woman, 33, on suspicion of killing a five-month-old child in her care.
The baby sitter was minding the child at her home in Amsterdam North last Friday. She brought the baby to a doctor, who could immediately see the child had suffered a serious injury.
The victim died in hospital on Tuesday.
The police received information on Sunday and Monday suggesting a crime had been committed. An investigation was launched and the woman turned herself into the police on Thursday. She allegedly admitted hitting the child.
A spokesperson said the police are refraining to say more due to the sensitive nature of the case.
