In the Champions League, Ajax has beaten Auxerre 2-1 at home in the Areana. If the Amsterdammers, beat them again in the return game in two weeks time they will at least play in the Europa League, but if all goes well the Dutch team could reach the next round of the Champions League.
Ajax, is now in equal second place with AC Milan in group G. The team was two goals ahead at half time. Demy de Zeeuw scored in the seventh minute. Just under five minutes before the break Luis Suarez made the second goal. A goal by Auxerre’s Roy Contout was disallowed.
Ten minutes into the second half André Ooijer was sent off for a foul. Straight away, Auxerre’s Valter Bisra took advantage of a free kink, putting the goal in the net.
