Train kills escaping suspect

AMSTERDAM — A 32-year-old man was killed when he fell under a train while trying to escape police at Rheden station in the east of the country on Wednesday night.

Police tried to arrest the man, who was from the eastern town of Velp, but he resisted and fell under a passing train, newspaper De Telegraaf reported.

The man’s death is under investigation and the police have refused to comment any further.
