AMSTERDAM —  The bodies of a 31-year-old woman and her nine and five-year-old sons have been found stabbed to death in a flat in Schiedam.

The bodies were discovered on Saturday and police have also found the murder weapon. Police entered the home after receiving a tip-off.

The alleged killer reported to police on Saturday night. He has been identified as a 30-year-old Rotterdam man, the boyfriend of the deceased woman, NOS reported.

A third son, an 11-year-old boy, survived the killing after he escaped from the flat and a third party later alerted police.

It is believed that a relationship-based argument was the motive for the murder.
