There have been just seven days without rain and higher than average temperatures, compared with 20 in a normal summer, the KNMI said.
‘There has been rain somewhere almost every day,’ the KNMI said. ‘And the number of good weather days is far below the average.’ Although the weather is set to be fine for the next few days, the institute expects this summer to be one of the worst since 1996.
The temperature has topped 30 degrees just once. Nevertheless, the average temperature is higher than average because the nights have been fairly warm, the KNMI said.
